Made Sustainably

WADSWORTHS is a small, micro some might say, jewellers.

I’m passionate about the environment, supporting small and doing good for people and the planet. That’s why I make all my pieces of jewellery from eco-silver and eco-gold.

It’s also why every piece is handmade by me, right here in Derbyshire. I buy all my materials and tools from UK companies and recycle as much as possible (check out the raindrop collection for items made of recycled metals from my workbench). The idea behind buying locally to me is to keep the carbon footprint of my items as small as possible - yes the finished articule might fly off around the world but at least it has minimal impact when being produced!

Nature is at the heart of everything I do, many of my pieces are inspired by it and it’s one of my personal core values. By buying small you know where your item came from, who made it and the practices involved.

I may only be small but even small businesses can be mighty. I believe passionately that we can all make a difference, whether at work, at home or through the choices we make when purchasing products and services.

Being small also means I fully appreciate the need for customers to choose small rather than fast, and easy. We may be a little slower, we may not have as much choice but by supporting us (any small business) you are feeding a family, supporting local skills and helping support a diverse and creative economy. It’s time for the small to become mighty.
